Crosswinds Press

Crosswinds Press, Inc. is a boutique publishing house that emphasizes children’s picture books that have a moral or “life” lesson embedded in them.  The books of interest to the Press target what has been identified as an underserved market segment of the $35.6 billion dollar children’s book industry:  preschool through the third grade (i.e., early readers).

Crosswinds Press is organized as a virtual corporation that partners with other companies to perform many of the activities in the firm’s value chain.  Crosswinds Press retains direct control over only those activities deemed to be its core competencies:  acquisition and distribution.

The first series of books that have been signed by Crosswinds Press debuted in October, 2009. Wil, Fitz and a Flea Named T, The Boomerang, The Bad Enchilada and A Line in the Sand are the first books in the series written by CJ Connolly and illustrated by Lisa Adams. Future titles obtained by Crosswinds Press in this series include: Vive la Différance, The Lemonade Stand and Reflections

Wil, Fitz and a Flea Named "T"
The Bad Enchilada

One of the hardest things to do in life is to learn to let go of anger and perceived slights, which is the focus of this book. ”T” and his Mexican nephew “CC” help Wil understand that holding on to bad feelings results in its own form of “indigestion.”
Told in rhyme and accompanied by engaging illustrations, The Bad Enchilada is the third in a series of children’s books written by CJ Connolly and illustrated by Lisa Adams.

Wil, Fitz and a Flea Named "T"
The Boomerang

In this book, Wil learns that one receives back in life what one gives—a gentle introduction to the concept of karma.  Using the challenges faced in learning to throw a boomerang as its story line, Wil, with the help of ”T” and ”T”’s Australian cousin Zed, learns that actions taken in anger end in frustration while those undertaken in peace lead to desired ends.Told in rhyme and accompanied by engaging illustrations, The Boomerang is the second in a series of children’s books written by CJ Connolly and illustrated by Lisa Adams.

Reading to my kids has always been something I have done, because I really feel it's important to their learning. My children will act out the story that they heard during pretend play. It tells me they really are paying attention, and it's bonding time as well. Books that have lessons in them weather it be letters, colors, or like these two great books, sharing and ways to handle situations better then a first reaction.

I have found there are books on the market my kids would just assume not listen to and get rather restless I am happy to say that these to books, are great reads and even my 2 year old seemed intrigued.

CrossWinds Press also offers two other titles in this series

Wil, Fitz and a Flea Named "T"
