Ozone Socks Review

Laurie founded ozone design in 2000. She strongly believed that socks were one of the only items untouched by fashion.

“Ozone Design is devoted entirely to putting fashion and fun into socks and tights. Amazingly, they were still looked upon as undergarments.” Laurie’s goal was to bring spirit and passion to one of the most intimate and neglected parts of our wardrobe. “For too long the sock has been ignored by the world of fashion and we’re going to change that.”

During the past ten years Ozone has set the benchmarks for what’s cool and hip in footwear. “There have been more innovative and new design concepts that have come out of Ozone than any other sock company in history.” The list is impressive: shoe socks, safe sox, hemp socks, radionic socks, tattoo socks, motorcycle socks, the replacement sock, etc.

Laurie still has her heart embedded in the art world.  Ozone makes socks for many of the world’s famous museums. Laurie worked closely with Christo during The Gates project and developed the highly successful “Gates sock” sold during the event.
Ozone socks are sold around the world and through a network of two thousand stores in America.

A recent men’s vogue article sums it up:
“When Mallet talks about her dreams for socks, people often ask her what all the fuss is about. Most of the time no one can see your socks anyway. 'Fashion is something you do for yourself,' says Mallet. 'Of course, when other people get a glimpse, that is exciting. But I prefer the idea that socks are your secret weapon.'"

Living somewhere it gets cold, you know socks are a must. Printed socks can be super fun, but Ozone socks are great. I love the prints they come in, and the socks are comfortable as can be. Very thin, so your feet don't sweat but also durable enough that I haven't worn through them in the many times I've warn them.

Plus the best thing, they aren't plain socks they have fabulous designs, and that makes them that much more special. Just look at some of these awesome designs...

Scandinavian Free Form in Navy
These are my favorite socks, and the pair I own. I've been told the o's look like the oakley symbol.  They really are awesome and although the $20 price tag is a little steep they might actually be well worth it.

Some of my other favorites are

Ozone socks vary in price from  somewhere around $10 - $20 each pair. you can be these awesome designs and many more, from www.ozonesocks.com

Kidlandia Review

Kidlandia personalized maps a unique personalized gift idea for kids and families
The founder of Kidlandia, illustrator and entrepreneur Brian Backus, has been living in a fantasy world of maps and monsters since he was a very little boy.
Kidlandia grew out of Brian’s 2004 concept to create personalized maps of imaginary kingdoms for children’s rooms. He believed that by providing children their own kingdoms, with friendly monsters as companions, kids would gain an increased sense of confidence, control, and self-worth. In addition, by naming the cities, islands, and other features of the kingdoms after family and friends, kids would feel more connected to those who love them. Brian, who produced educational multimedia titles for Disney and Voyager, was also intrigued by the idea that by engaging kids in namesake kingdoms, he could motivate them to understand maps, and accelerate reading skills.
Although the maps cost up to $2,000 and were only sold by word of mouth, Brian could not keep up with demand. He received consistent feedback that the maps were among the favorite gifts of a lifetime. In response to this encouragement, he determined to make the maps more widely available, and at affordable prices. Kidlandia was born.
Today, Kidlandia is comprised of a team of talented engineers, designers, and business professionals. Kidlandiandia team members share a passion to bring delight and meaning to the lives of children and their families. 2.5% of Kidlandia’s founding stock has been set aside as the basis for a future charitable Foundation benefiting children.

The Girl who never made mistakes book review

Beatrice Bottomwell, the heroine of "The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes," does everything right, from always wearing matching socks to winning her elementary school's annual talent show. Her record is so pristine, in fact, that she won't allow herself to enjoy ice skating with her friends, in case she slips. Naturally, this sets her up for a fall.

I love this book... I feel it really helps to teach children, and maybe even remind adults that no matter how perfect someone may seem, that really every one makes mistakes. As a mother of 2 little girls, that I know do the best they can, but do make mistakes  it helped me to remember that I am not not perfect either.

The Girl who never makes mistakes is also the perfect to story to help reassure my 8 year old that she is perfectly fine, when she makes a mistake because  unlike Beatrice no one thinks she is perfect, and never makes mistakes. This book has become one of our favorite books to read together my girls and me. I would love to thank Mark Pett and Gary Rubinstein for such an inspiring story.

The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes is available on September 30 and is reasonably priced at $14.99 for a hard copy.

Wreckingbalm Review and Giveaway

Almost everyone knows someone who went out in a drunken moment got a tattoo or tattooed a boyfriend or girlfriends name on them. I know tattoos are permanent and there is no real way to get rid of them that doesn't cost a ton or require surgery until now...

WreckingBalm is a Tattoo fading system that I got the chance to try out on my brother in law... he went out and got a tattoo on his right shoulder of a cross with a girls name in it. I understand at the time he may have thought it forever but now... it's just a reminder of what wasn't meant to be.

Now when he mentioned WreckingBalm a few months ago I have no idea what it was never heard of it, but once he explained it to me, I thought it was kinda neat. The thought that maybe it wouldn't work also crosses my mind, and two months into the test... well the tattoo is fading slightly but still here and readable.

Directions so say 2-10 months for results though so I am not worried, and after all a little change is still a change. I have faith that it will work. I will show you all a photo of the tattoo after the 10 month mark or it's good and faded enough to be filled in.

We have this great routine that he comes over to my house everyday and I apply either the  Hydravescent Cream or  I add a quarter size amount of Suffusion Gel  to the DemoMatic with the Erosion Head placed and  we set a clock for 1 minute and I sand him. I did at first question weather or not I should apply a lot or a little pressure but I think we are now have it down pat.

after about 6 weeks though we noticed the pad in the Erosion head started to slide around and then slid off, so I would say they should maybe include 2 erosion heads in every kit instead of just one.

Overall I have to say at this point Wreckingbalm is  at least worth a try if you have a tattoo you are no longer wanting. I will add photos when I notice more and more of a change but right now the     pictures I have show no real change, in person it's more noticeable.

Reliable of Milwaukee, whose corporate office is located in Milwaukee, WI, remains close to its origin in the 3rd Ward area of the city. 2011 was the 100th Anniversary for Reliable of Milwaukee. We offer many brands which include: headwear, footwear, fashion accessories, sleepwear, technical apparel, hunting accessories providing golf balls & accessories by Nitro Golf and exciting promotional products by Express Promotions.

Here in Michigan the weather is starting to chill, and that means cold feet,  I think one of the first things to feel is to get into bed at night and have ice cold feet, but that can also be fun to place them on the legs of your husband.   Slippers for around the house are wonderful.  and Muk Luks are very nice, they truly keep my feet warm as can be. I will say I am in love them.

Even my 2 year old son likes to wear them and they offer a super soft and very comfortable inner,  the only real drawback I have come up with is that I feel like my feet are sliding around in the bottom.  They offer great traction, I also think that in most colors they would look adorable.I was sent a very pretty fall colored pair, and they are gorgeous, I'm wearing them right now.

Fall 2011 styles have already been released and you can purchase Muk Luks where they are sold.

Slanket Review

Slanket Logo - Home Page

One subzero night in 1998 during my first semester of college I could not escape Maine's winter bite. While watching Late Night with Conan O'Brien I decided I needed to tear a hole in my sleeping bag so I could keep my upper body warm as I channel surfed during the commercial breaks. During Christmas vacation I commissioned the first Slanket to be made by my mother...and it was born.

Everyone behind The Slanket is on the same level when it comes to life. Besides creating a product to make people comfortable and warm, our life goals are not to accumulate mansions, SUV's, expensive watches and closets just for shoes. What we want in life is to travel the world and experience all its cultures while representing humanity positively. Whether surfing in Costa Rica, snowboarding in Austria, or studying language in South America and China, we love to spread our sleeves and let them flap in the wind, giving back in the process. BUT... there is nothing like coming home, wrapping up in The Slanket on your own couch and feeling the warmth of your friends and family.

I can not tell you how many times, I would have my daughter complain she's cold while doing her homework or something, and I can only tell her she can kinda sit under a blanket, but when he work doesn't get done. I was very happy when we got the

The Slanket for kids, in Ruby Wine

The color matches my living room great, as it is a very similar color. it's a little big for my younger to, but my oldest can use it now and fora while to come. I would  prefer it to  be softer though, it feels a little rough.

I also learned a new love...
Koala 2in1 Pillow Throw - Turquoise
The Koala

It is beyond soft, and the fact it  can be folded up into a pillow, and thrown on the couch or bed is perfect.  plus it's long enough to well cover, me and my 2 year old.  it has become my favorite blanket, and a must to snuggle with on the couch while watching TV.

Earthy Crunchy Mama Review

I was given the chance to try out the

the EIO cup,  I was a little curious as to why any one would want to give a toddler a glass cup. I was sure it would break of my son threw it like he has the rest of his cups, and to me that seemed dangerous. I do realize it's pretty much the same a glass bottles, but then again bottles were not a thing I used either.

I was thrilled they came in Z's favorite color. When the cup arrived I washed it, and them allowed my son to give it a try, but watched him super close, he did pretty good at first, sadly though I was right about the cup not lasting he threw it in my cast iron sink, and it broke.  I can at est to the spill resistant but not tell you it's a cup I would buy, what if I hadn't been watching him so closely? The EIO cup just isn't the cup for me.

Growums Review

Growums
When I was a kid, I started growing vegetables for my dad’s garden center using the same type of pellets used to grow your Growums today. It was magical to watch this small, dry object soak up water and create a place for me to put my vegetable seeds – and a few days later, I had plants! (It was cool!) Most kids today don’t get to experience this, and it’s our goal to give them that chance.
In addition, the Growums program:
  • Gives children a life-changing experience, teaching them that they can grow their own food and help the environment, as well as emphasize the importance of healthy eating
  • Gives them gardening knowledge and shows them the skills it takes to become a successful gardener – no matter what their age
  • Gives kids a chance to have fun quality time with their parents, siblings and grandparents – both out in the garden, as well as online
  • Gives back to your organization, charity or fundraiser
We feel that by providing children with a remarkable experience to grow their own garden – along with the help of fun characters who coach them in a virtual world they can enjoy online – the kids will be attentive and successful in their real-life gardening adventures. My kids have done it, and so have the kids in my neighborhood. I can tell you from experience: The joy on their faces and the fun they had digging in the dirt – then eating what they grew – was immeasurable!

I first need to say I do not in anyway have a green thumb and kill every plant I have ever had that spent time in the house. Next I have to say this was so much fun to do with my kids. We started mid way through summer, and although my husband said the seeds wouldn't grow, they sure did. I was shocked at how quickly we had  sprouts.

I will say I am very glad it says to wait up to 15 days for sprouts but to be honest the Carrots didn't sprout at all until day 19 and I had pea sprouts after only a couple days so it really does go to show how different the results can be. My kids were exited to get to do this project5 because for the most part they could do it themselves. I live in a state with the 4 seasons I decided to put the plants outside to get sunlight fairly early, because really putting them in the window didn't get them any light.  With it being summer the few hours of sunlight helped them along greatly.

Overall I think this is a great idea, and the fact you can purchase a kit for $9.99 each just take a look around the growums website, and the fact you get e-mailed adorable videos that tell you when you should check your garden.
