How it all started

Back in 2003 while living in Brooklyn, NY - we took a look around and what we didn't see really excited us! There were tons of lip balms out there, but they were all missing that one thing - that extra coolness factor that separated the ordinary from the extraordinary! There were two options: simple and plain, harboring the same basic flavors and scents, or wild and over the top but made of purely synthetic ingredients!

And off we go

Relentlessly seeking out the perfect lip balm recipe with no luck, we decided to create one on our own! Formulated from the ground up with one main goal: to create the best all natural & vegan lip balm-- dare we say-- in the world!

Eureka!

After months upon months of late night experiments and testing, we were pretty certain we had done it!  Not only did our lips feel astonishing but our kitchen smelled amazing! In the famous words of Suze Orman APPROVED!

In High School there were a ton of crazy rumors but none like this. Crazy Rumors Lip Balm and Lip Color is amazing,

I love this lip balm. I think it has a delightful texture, not oily but not to waxy either. It has a pleasant scent, although I don't detect a taste at all. The fact the A La Mode line comes in 3 other yummy Flavors makes me want to try them all!

Ooh yummy! Hey girls! got something new for you! "You Gotta Be Kitten Me" pomegranate shower gel! This stuff is jam packed with skin nourishing ingredients like, shea butter, sweet almond oil, and cocoa butter. So rich and thick, a little goes a long way. So many bubbles, it's like taking a bath standing up! Now this is what I call slipping into something more comfortable!


I love this stuff, and the fact it's super girly means it will always be just mine. I love to use this, and really it is so great to use, leaves my skin feeling great with no residue, and the smell isn't overwhelming at all.

Loved to try this the night before vacation it made for a great bath, and really helped me relax so that I could settle into the great fun to be had.

I was sent this for review, and I love the look of the jar it comes it, paired with the label it really does look super nice. I however was not as happy with the cream it's self. I applied it just as directions say after cleansing, and although it did soften my skin, It felt really heavy on, and that was not a feeling I at all enjoyed. I applied it one morning as with in minutes I had to take it back off, I just wasn't happy with it.


Although it has many great properties, and I know there are alot of creams that are heavy,I just don't like the feeling they give off.  Happy skincare does say you can apply it all over..and as a hand or body cream it would be ok... but I feel is just wasn't for me... Babo Botanicals Review

With the launch of Babo Botanicals, my mission is to provide the highest quality, purest hair, scalp and skincare products for babies and kids. Both my personal and professional experiences have contributed to my inspiration for the line. After the birth of my first child and drawing on my 10 years of experience in product development for beauty companies such as L'Oreal, Parfums Givenchy and Avon, it seemed like most baby "grooming" products were long on chemical names and didn't truly address our children's particular hair and skin problems. This is a great lotion and does a fantastic job of softening skin, and over all moisturizing. It doesn't take much and does not at all feel greasy, but rather absorbs into the skin quickly. I love the  quickness of the effects to, It also hasn't at all made Z's eczema flair up which is a very important factor for me, his little skin is just so sensitive . The only down side of the bottle I received is the pump would  not work for anything no matter how many times, I turned it the way, the top say to turn it to open it, and can't get it to pop up for anything.

I love this as well, My kids have not complained one time that their little eyes hurt when  they have soap in them. I have tried several different types tear free shampoo, and they do still burn so what makes them tear free? Well thus Babo botanicals shampoo really is. that is the one thing I can  be sure of.  


Would I buy these? if my kids weren't growing up so fast yes I would , but the older they get the more I tend to stray away from Baby products, still I may very well buy Z some of the lotion before next winter for his skin.

Monave Make up Review

Monave started as a little seed...a dream to make makeup by  hand,   with simple ingredients. The seed also had the expectation that the products had to be high-quality, high-performance. I grew up working in health food stores, and much of the natural makeup wasn't very good. I didn't want Monave to be just another so-so natural makeup brand. As my little tree grew, so did my dream. It started to extend into the realm of developing and nurturing other women's ability and knowledge to create and sell their own makeup line. Some say that creates competition, but truly, the root of the tree lies in what is given away, not what is held tight.

I have tried out many mineral makeups over the last year, and I really love some, and others I don't really like to use anymore.  I will make a post in the future about that, but for now let me tell you all about my experience with Monave Make Up. 

I got to choose 4 things from a few different categories for review, and let me tell you some of them have become my absolute favorite to carry in my make up bag. I believe now though that my eyes are super sensitive to mineral Eye Liners and Mascaras, because when ever I attempt to wear them my eyes burn, but I know it is just me, and not the product because we sharpened the pencil and let someone else try it and loves it. 

First up is the wonderful loose powder foundation in Ashlie.

This shade has been resurrected for the very lightest of skin tones. It has a pink undertone, and is perfect for those who find Claire too dark.

This is only the 2nd foundation ever to not be to dark for me. I love that fact to with the pink undertone it gives me cheeks a natural blush look, so it doesn't look like I have any makeup on at all. what could be better?

It feels super light on

It hasn't caused be to breakout

3 reasons right there I love it. I am sure you will to.

Next in line is the Sugar Lip Glaze

Light silver frost, used alone to sparkle, or perfect as a topcoat

it is very sheer and in the photo looks so lite it's hard to see, but I can't do dark colors, and color matching with my red hair isn't always easy.  This gives just a slightly shiny look with a little glitter, but nothing to flashy.


The Smoke Eye Liner is the one thing that saddens me to have to tell you, it didn't work for me, because of my sensitivity to something in mineral eye liners,and mascaras. 





I got to try the Eyeliner in smoke, and it looked great on, and went on very smoothly, I  just couldn't wear it long.


and last but defiantly not the least and maybe my most favorite product of them all is a versatile powder that really has a few uses, I have used it to lighten my eye shadow, and help cover a break out, it works great for a few different things, and am kinds sad I can't find the product on the Monave site anymore to share a link with you.

     My love of makeup started when I was about 6 years old. My babysitter was a makeup artist with all boys and NO girls! So, I got enlisted in makeup boot camp! I learned early how to put on my lip liner without a mirror, try it, it's NOT easy. Eventually I was hooked and I continued in theatre, film, weddings, and anything other event people would let me do makeup for. A few years back I looked into starting a makeup line and discovered that having a company make and package it is very expensive. At those prices, I wouldn't even buy my makeup! First let me just say, I love the case of the YBF A girl's best friend Duo. It's Red, my favorite color, and it has a circle of crystals that go around the lid.  So pretty, it makes it look really elegant. I love this eye shadow it doesn't fade as the day goes on, and blends really easy. The lip gloss, is easy to apply because it glides over your lips and gives a very pretty shimmer. I normally will wear a chap stick over a lip gloss but this one is just to nice not to wear.

This eye liner is very nice to apply, and looks great on. I normally wear black mascara though so I haven't worn it much, because I hate not wearing Mascara, and only own black.

Over all I think YBF cosmetics are a great value with the prices that you will find at HSN.com.  For a great quality cosmetic, I would expect to pay a little more then drug store brands, and YBF delivers all of that.
