I think the National Geographic Kids line of toys are awesome.
Teaching kids about animals while they have fun playing is a great idea, and my son love to stay busy. The Elephant Adventure Ride has helped keep him busy.

It's very nice the little boy figure has brown hair, so Mr.Z pretends it's him riding on the elephant and exploring the rain forest and jungles. The elephants canopy does come apart and Z loves to ask me to put it back together over and over, but It means even his independent play time still includes mommy sometimes.

The monkey on the side will slide down the vine on his own, and then you just turn him back up, this has been fun for all the kids. They made me teach them all about Elephants after this toy came.  Which made me beyond happy they asked to learn, sure different from the norm.

One lucky reader will win an Elephant Adventure of their own.

Getting into Shape for 2012

I have struggled with my weight since I had my first baby 8.5 years ago. When I got pregnant with her I was only 110 when she was a year old I weighed about 150. I can not follow a workout video for the life of me, it gets old fast!. These are old pics of me but they show my weight struggles. I wish I could find me.. but I tend to hide from the camera.

This is my husband and I in 2008 mr.L turned 1
Our Disney trip in May 2008

Here we are in 2010 My 3rd child is 14 months old in this photo

me again in 2010

At that size I was not happy about what I looked like... to put this publicly is a little nerve racking for me. At my heaviest I was 240lbs. Because I am 5'5 1/4 That made me very overweight.

It's been a struggle but at this present moment I am about 178

This was just a couple weeks ago at Christmas

I still have a long way to go, but I know I feel more active the more, I move.

I play more with my kids not, we run around play catch in the house( we don't use baseballs)  and now for me goal weight.

My goal weight is:
135lbs. This would put me at an average weight.
43 lbs to go, but with the help of motivation and the Kinect for X Box I will get there.

I will post my journey here as I go.

Klutz R/G

Klutz

Today, how-to books from Klutz come packaged with the tools of their trade (from juggling cubes to face paints to yo-yos), and are designed for doing, not just reading. "We think people learn best through their hands, nose, feet, mouth and ears. Then their eyes. So we design multi-sensory books," Cassidy says. The appeal of this hands-on approach is borne out by sales figures; Klutz is a fixture on U.S. book and toy bestseller lists, and is available in 24 countries around the world.
Having expanded the offerings to include Klutz Toys, Klutz Kits, Klutz Buckets, Klutz Guides and, in 2001, an educational product line, Cassidy seems to have an unlimited supply of ideas. The inspiration? "I marinate myself in children," he says. "Some years ago, I created a few. With the help of my wife" (Nancy Cassidy, the voice behind the gold-record-winning KidsSongs recordings).
In 2002, Scholastic Inc., the largest children's book publisher and distributor in the world, acquired Klutz. For those of you who collect corporate mission statements, here's the Klutz credo: Create wonderful things, be good, have fun.

Ribbon Bangles
Ribbon has the power to transform everyday plastic bracelets into shimmering designer bangles. We provide the sturdy plastic bangles, a bright array of ribbon, and a bottle of glue to hold it all together — everything you need to make a wardrobe of five unique bracelets
Priced at $19.99

Stamp Art
Stamp Art makes stamping simpler -- and more creative -- than ever. Stick the included shapes on the see-through acrylic block to create your own one-of-a-kind stamp design. Full of inspirational artwork and instruction, this stamp-right-in-it book shows how to create animals, flowers, houses, aliens... anything you can dream up
$21.99

My daughter loves to work on these. She's 8 and the fact it keeps her quite and happy when her brother is napping or when she's needed something to do on a rainy day, I do think she missed the point of the bangles but she does the stamp art with ease. I would recommend these books  for car trips or quite time.

I would say my 5 year old is way to young for them though so they are for older children to me that was a little disappointing. Still great books and  they appear to be very durable as well, want to try them out for yourself?

Klutz has offered a giveaway, one lucky winner will receive a copy of all 3 of the books I received.

Ribbon Bangles
the last one I can not find on the site.
