Think Geek Moshi Review

ThinkGeek

ThinkGeek started as an idea. A simple idea to create and sell stuff that would appeal to the thousands of people out there who were on the front line and in the trenches as the Internet was forged. ThinkGeek started as a way to serve a market that was passionate about technology, from programmers, engineers, students, lovers of open source, to the masses that helped create the behind-the-scenes Internet culture.
Three out of the four founding ThinkGeek members started an ISP in the Northern Virginia area way way back in 1995. We couldn't afford Solaris, learned about a free UNIX-like OS, and spent almost an entire day downloading it onto over 50 floppies for installation on an old 486 laptop with no cd-rom (thanks Slackware!). After a few years with the ISP gig, the ThinkGeek idea popped into our heads, and, operating out of a spare room at the ISP office we setup shop and launched the site on Friday the 13th, 1999...
A month or so later we were Slashdotted. Promptly thereafter, ThinkGeek was acquired by the good folks at Andover.Net who through an acquisition and a bunch of name changes, is now known as Geeknet. So we're part of a cool gaggle of sites including slashdot.org, sourceforge.net, linux.com, and freshmeat.net. Pretty nice company to be amongst, eh? We're pretty proud of it!
All the founding members are still in town, and we've continued to grow our product line, expand our staff (including several canines) and enhance the way we interface with customers. Who would have thought...

Think Geek is a very awesome site, and I had tons of fun spending hours looking over all the items they offer. I do think my all time favorite is

Moshi Voice Activated Alarm Clock

The earliest known method of keeping time was to stare at the sun and glean the passage of the day by its position in the sky. Inaccurate and potentially blinding. A suboptimal solution. Other methods included sand through a narrow opening in a glass. More precise, but needed flipping every so often. Also suboptimal.
Soon there was the pendulum, then springs, then quartz oscillations, and eventually molecular oscillations. We've gotten more and more precise as time went on, but the method of reading the time remained the same - looking at numbers and/or hands and converting those visual cues to concepts of temporal movement. Heady stuff.
Now, many clocks will read you the time, so you don't have to read it yourself. It's certainly nifty, having a clock that can talk to you, but what if you could talk to your clock? By that we mean talk to it and have it understand you? We're not talking Star Trek, either.
Moshi is a new series of talking clocks that can also listen to you! Ask it what time it is, and it'll tell you! Tell it what time it is, and it'll set the clock! Ask it the temperature! Even change the color of the clock's face to match your color scheme! Just say "Hello, Moshi," and your clock is yours to command.
This Clock is awesome, there is nothing I hate more then having to set the clocks again when ever we lose power because you have to hold down the time button and then hour, and then minute buttons it drives me crazy, but not with Moshi...
All you have to say is " Hell Moshi" and then Moshi will respond " Welcome Command Please"
Moshi comes with quite a few commands such as
Set Time
Set Alarm
Today's Date
Temperature
Night Light Sleep Sound
Turn Off Alarm
Multicolor
I do know that my husband and best friend find it so annoying because I love Moshi, and talk to it often. I do think that this alarm clock is a great step to show just how far technology really has come. and no matter what anyone says I absolutely love my Moshi and it was a welcomed addition to our house.

Beanie Designs Review and Giveaway

What do you get when you add together a crocheting husband, a stay at home mom, and a growing family? For us, Beanie Designs was the answer!

The beginnings of Beanie Designs

Not many ladies can say their husband taught them to crochet. Well, my wonderful husband took the time to teach me the intricate art of crochet, and I have been addicted ever since.
At first I crocheted to relax. Then I became obsessed with crocheting adorable little hats and blankets for my daughter. Soon I realized the total satisfaction of sharing my one-of-a-kind creations with other mothers, and Beanie Designs was born!

The cutest baby hats, handmade in soft organic cotton

Now we carry a wide selection of adorable baby hats, all handmade with care and exceptionally soft yarns. I have assembled a team of talented artists both here in the U.S. and also in China to keep up with demand for our sweet baby hat designs. They all share my vision: to create the most beautiful baby hats around, each handmade with love and an eye towards quality and perfection.
I am proud that Beanie Designs is also able to help enrich the lives of other stay-at-home-moms who love to knit, both here and in China. Our knitters are primarily work-at-home-moms (and some dads!) who share our devotion to creating sweet baby hat designs. In China, our production is overseen by a husband and wife team from England who are helping bring well-paying jobs to parents who knit at home to support their families. We provide training in our proprietary knitting techniques to help build skills for all our knitters and ensure consistent quality across all our products.
From the dreaming stage of design to the hands-on process of creating the beautiful beanies, every baby hat we offer on this site meets our uncompromising standards for quality of material, aesthetics and comfort in the design, and superior construction.
Crocheting is more than a hobby or even a business to me. It is a passion, and that passion comes across in each special hat I offer you and the way we run our company. I look forwarded to crafting a special hat just for you and your baby, and serving you with respect and integrity.
On behalf of all of us at Beanie Designs, thank you for helping our vision come to life.

In my house everyone loves pancakes, but I have never been very good at making any one shape or even perfectly round pancakes. Batter Blaster has helped me to be able to do fun shapes or even letters. I do think it makes for a fun morning or even evening using Batter Blaster. This was a fun experience to try, but I had a hard time finding it. The website offers stores in your area that carry it, however I learned it can be wrong.

Batter Blaster comes in 4 great varieties, and is reasonably priced.  if your looking for a fun, and easy way to make breakfast then Batter Blaster is your answer.

The Juno Company Review

All of our products are based on our lifelong love of music and our belief in its power to open hearts and minds. We firmly believe that by surrounding young children with beautiful music, we can engage their minds, inspire them artistically and nurture them emotionally.

During this journey, we have collaborated with top researchers, artists and musicians to create an award-winning line of products. Our CDs, DVDs and books feature a cast of lovable characters that interact with your child, along with original music composed for and performed by live orchestral musicians. We are excited to be able to share our passion with you. Welcome to our family!

Before I tell you about the products that the Juno Company offers I'd like to tell you about an awesome program that they have. It's called  One for all buy one, give one
For Every Product Purchased, The Juno Company will donate one to a child in need.  That is a great thing, and I felt it needed to be mentioned.

Now onto the Review I was sent a DVD and a CD from the Juno Jr collection. My children are fond of music, and the most fun we have is dancing around the house to whatever music is playing. Juno Jr is designed for preschoolers, and well my kids are 2.5 and 4.5 that are home during the day.

The Day The Music Stopped
When Bunny presses the big red button on Murphy's Shush Machine, she inadvertently silences the town of Harmonia Springs. Juno realizes that, in order to bring life back to the town, she and her friends have to create their own music through melody, harmony, rhythm and – most of all – friendship.

Most of the time the kids won't sit in front of the Tv for long, not that I think they should but my 4 year old will watch this with out moving my 2 year old however is bored by it. I would say this is better suited for the 3+ age bracket.  The Day the Music stopped retails for $17.99

we also received

Welcome to Harmonia Springs
Super Duper Deluxe Edition
Get the best of both worlds! The Juno Jr. Super Duper Deluxe Edition features both instrumental and sing-along tracks from the Juno Jr. series, including the DVDs “One Bunny Band,” “The Day the Music Stopped,” and “Friends Make a Symphony.” All titles are performed live by the Juno Jr. Orchestra, and composed by Belinda Takahashi, Ph.D.

This is our favorite CD to put in during the day to play to , dance to or just chill out to.I put it into the dvd player or the cd player and let the kids have their fun. The cd contains 21 tracks and lasts just over 1 hour. Priced at $11.99 . Head over to the Juno Company website to get a preview of Track 3 Tweet.

101 offline activities you can do with your kids Review and Giveaway

Here’s a brief time out that EVERYONE in your family will enjoy: disconnect from the Net, put away your digital toys, and get ready for some good old-fashioned fun.  Even 20 minutes a day can be rejuvenating for you and a great way to connect with your children. In 101 Offline Activities You Can Do With Your Child, you’ll find activities that tap the most advanced computer of all time—the one between the ears.  Best of all, you can do most of the activities with little or no preparation!

I sometimes feel like I spend to much time online and not enough doing stuff with my kids, I was thrilled to be able to review this book. It's full of ideas that get you away from your computer for even a little while. I like that is offers different categories such as...
Arts & Crafts
Fantasy Play
Games
Get 'em Moving
In the Kitchen
Imagine This
Math and Number
Older Kids Play
On The Road
Toymaking
While We're waiting
Word Games
Younger Kids At Play
Your Time Only

to be honest we have been so busy I just finished this book last week, I really wish I would have read it sooner, might have greatly helped me, when I spent 12 hours straight in the car with my 3 darling children, from Michigan to New York, and 12 more hours from New York to Michigan. Plus the ideas are very creative, and inventive. Each activity also lists what you will need, weather it be materials for crafts or just simply your time.

I would say it's defiantly worth the read and maybe something to keep  around for a reference guide in case you forget and need ideas.

Go Green Lunchbox Review and Giveaway

Many of the local elementary schools are working hard to teach the children of our community the importance of protecting the environment. Since their kindergarten days, my children have been taught repeatedly the phrase, “reduce, reuse, recycle.” Over the past few years, with children taking the lead, my family has made changes in our daily lives to do our part to protect and conserve our environment – locally and globally.

In 2008, Go Green Lunch Box was founded simply out of "frustration." Packing two lunches everyday, I was appalled at the amount of waste generated by the packaging of single-serve items (sandwiches, juices, snacks, desserts, etc.). All of that – plastic baggies/wrap/cups, paper cartons/bags, cellophane bags – eventually wound up in our landfills. Upon reading a statistic about a typical American child generating 67 pounds of lunch packaging waste each school year, I knew I had to make some changes. After buying food containers and trying, unsuccessfully, to fit all the containers into the lunch boxes we already owned, resulting in either the lids or containers (or both!) not being brought back home from school, I decided to solve the problem . . . hence, Go Green Lunch Box!

I have partnered with a family friend and international businessman, Hinman Dunn, who has manufacturing and sourcing experience. Like many new products, customer feedback over the past year has provided Hinman and me excellent opportunities to improve our products so as to better meet the needs of parents and children. Consequently, our latest product line features not only design changes, but also, improvements in functionality and durability. We truly think these “second year” products will be very well-received by our existing and new customers.

My children don't take cold lunch to school but my husband does take a lunch to work everyday, and every week we go through a ton of waste, and I have always hated it, plus if he accidently throws a bag or two out that is even more trash that mounts up, so when the Go Greem Lunchbox arrived I was thrilled to be able to reduce down to:

It is nice to be able to sort out the foods into compartments, and allows for great portion sizes. It's sleek design also allows for the Go Green Lunchbox fits on almost any shelf in my fridge so I can prepare lunch the evening before, and he can just grab it and go. I love the color choices Go green offers, and the fact you can purchase extra pieces should something break or you just think maybe an extra is needed.

The only drawback to this unit, is also a blessing. the locking system, that will keep the lip attached to the unit. My 2 year old got his finger under the lid, somehow, and it pinched his finger pretty good. Ever since then we make sure to keep it up our of his reach, but the lock also helps to guarantee no leaks.

Girl Gotch Review and Giveaway

Girl Gotch
How it all began... If you would have told me a year ago that I would be designing and launching my own underwear line for little girls, I wouldn‘t have believed it, but here I am and I am so excited to share my products with you.

It all started in the summer of 2008. I was potty-training my daughter and was having a really hard time finding underwear that fit her. She seemed to always be pulling and adjusting and no matter what, they would “ride-up”. I tried everything, even buying size 5/6 panties for her (even though she was 2).

Nellie's All Natural

I am in love with the Nellie's all- natural  dryer balls, they are wonderful.

Dryerballs (2-Pack)
The unique design of the Dryerballs lift and separate fabrics while relaxing fibers. The result is less lint and wrinkles, softer clothes, more absorbent towels and a reduced drying time of up to 25% - saving you moolah! Best of all, it's toxic-free, environmentally friendly, and guaranteed to last up to 2 years. That's equivalent to a whole lotta dryer sheets. Can not be used with scent sticks, only the Green PVC Free Dryerballs work with the scent sticks.

My son has had eczema since he was 4 months old, and that means no fabric softener on his clothing, and no dryer sheets, so his clothing, blankets, and towels were stiffer then I would have liked, but wasn't sure what to do. I was so excited that the day the dryer-balls arrived I washed my sons clothes, and could not believe just how soft they were.

The usefulness of these doesn't stop there though, my daughters both have the little carters nightshirts that are very flowy and great for summer, but I could not figure out how to avoid the material at the bottom sticking together straight out of the dryer, no amount of dryer sheets helped, but the first time I dried them with Nellie's all- natural dryer-balls they folded very nicely. I was amazed, at first, and now they are a laundry item I can not live without.

Snorg Tee's Review and Giveaway

Snorg Tees Funny T-Shirts

Welcome. SnorgTees got its start back in May 2004 when our group of friends decided that we weren't meant for a real job. We got our options narrowed down to international jewel thieves or internet t-shirt tycoons. Since it was the middle of the summer, we weren't able to find enough ski masks, which left t-shirts as our only option. Fast forward a few years and we've grown to the point where people mistake us for an actual business. We've even shipped a shirt to NASA. That means space. So technically we're a universal company. But we are still just a group of friends who run Snorg because we enjoy it.
Here at Snorg, we specialize in pop-culture inspired, random, and all around funny t-shirt designs. Most of the designs on our site are SnorgTees employee creations. But while we think of about 72% of what goes up on the site, 28% of the awesome design ideas come from you, our customers. So if you think you've got a great idea, send it our way.
We strive for constant improvements, and it's thanks to you that we're where we are today. So go out there and spread the good word about SnorgTees to everyone you know. Stop strangers in the street and tell them where they can replace that ugly piece of cloth they call a shirt with a genuine Snorg Tee. And don't forget to send in pictures of you showing off your SnorgTees around town. Remember, when you're wearing Snorg, all your pictures look good.

Urban Elk Review

Since Urban Elk presented our first collection in the fall of 2006, it has been continually followed by two annual collections – a spring/summer collection and a fall/winter collection.
The collections are designed by company founder Pouline Kiertner, and derive from the Scandinavian tradition of simplicity and high quality.
As our products are directed at the 0-8 year olds, we find it important that the clothes are comfortable to wear, and that the prints appeal to children as well as are taken from the small child’s world.
The Company is based in Copenhagen, from where all design, sales and distribution origin.
The manufacturing is left to our skilled and internationally renowned partners in South East Asia.
Urban Elk is today sold in more than 100 selected stores across Europe.

I wasn't familiar with the Urban Elk brand of children's clothing until, recently but I am very glad that I now know, they offer adorable clothing at ok prices.  Just take a look at the pieces I was sent to review

Denim anorak, drawstring
100% cotton. Elkembrodery at chest. Zipper at back, at size 3 m- 2 y and zipper at both sides in size 3-6y.

My son loves this jacket , and it's perfect for the early fall weather, each side has a zipper that allows Z at 2 years old to put on his own jacket. That is a huge plus for anyone who has a  child  with an Independence issue,  such  as he has to do everything for himself.
The denim look also matches just about everything.

        Sweatshirt w/hood & zipper
100% dark grey terry fleece cotton, with satin elk application at back

I love this piece, it is super cute in person, and is a really dark grey. It's  my go to hoodie for the cold fall morning walks to school. It looks great, after a few washes, and because it's so dark it doesn't stain, Would I buy this item yes, most defiantly.

Urban ELK offer girls clothing as well as boys clothing up to US size 5 for children, and from what I have seem carry an outstanding quality.
